Covid-19 Update

My guests safety and comfort has always been of upmost importance to me. This has always meant ensuring the cottage is cleaned to the highest standard. So I have been very busy to prepare ready for safe arrivals.

I have successfully been awarded the Industry Standard Mark "Good to Go" as I am following the Government and industry Covid-19 guidelines, have a risk assessment in place and processes to maintain cleanliness and social distancing. As a member of the Professional Association of Self Caterers, I have successfully completed an industry recognised Covid-19 cleaning course online. 

I have compiled a risk assessment for Kings Hyde Cottage. A comprehensive cleaning checklist which will be completed during each changeover, signed and a copy left in the cottage for guests. You can add your feedback about the cottage cleaning to this.

I have purchased the appropriate cleaning products which comply with regulations and PPE.

If you will feel happier you can choose to bring your own duvets, pillows and linen. If you let me know by the Wednesday before you are due to arrive I will remove all these items from the cottage ready for your arrival.

Please scan the NHS Test and Trace QR code on arrival at the cottage. This is located on the door opposite the cottage front door.

I will provide single use New Forest Aromatics hand wash and alcohol hand sanitiser. I kindly ask that you wash your hands for the required time each time you go into the cottage.

Due to the extra steps needed at each changeover clean and to keep everyone safe I hope you will understand that check-in will be from 5pm. However I am happy for guests to contact me from 4.30 to see if the cottage is ready. The check-in and check-out procedures have changed slightly to adhere to the social distancing rules and details will be sent out approximately a week before.

Please follow the government guidelines yourself and do not travel to the cottage if you need to self isolate due to symptoms or you have tested positive for Covid-19 in the week prior to arriving, as a result of being in contact with someone who has tested positive or have been contacted my NHS Test and Trace and told to self-isolate. Please refer to my terms and conditions. In accordance with the government guidelines if you develop symptoms of Covid-19 while staying at the cottage, you must notify me immediately, self-isolate and organise to have a test. If you test positive guests must leave the cottage immediately and return home to follow the government self-isolating policy. If you are too ill and cannot return home and need to self isolate at Kings Hyde Cottage, guests are responsible for paying the extra accommodation costs. I will help out wherever possible to obtain guests' shopping while they self-isolate and provide changes of linen.A comprehensive digital guestbook will be sent to guests approximately a week before arrival. This includes all the information about the cottage and the local area. This will enable me to add updates to local services. Once you receive it there will be full instructions how to add it to your phone, download it or print sections of it whichever option suits you. Don’t forget if you have any queries you can still contact me by text or phone and the same level of service is still available.

We are lucky here in the New Forest and a number of local businesses have been very innovative and adapted to the situation. There are some great take-away options, we have tried them, and some attractions have recently opened their grounds and gardens. Things are changing constantly.

The cottage, outside patio, garden and parking area are completely separate from our accommodation. We are situated in a very quiet area, with a few neighbours all at a good distance away. It is possible to enjoy walks onto the forest from the cottage with little or no contact with other people but still be able to enjoy this beautiful area. The local area is great for walks or cycles and looking great. We have a large number of foals tottering about.

I am so excited to be welcoming guests hopefully by 12th April 2021 and hope you have a very enjoyable holiday.
